Question MATH wasn't not my best subject

Hey Guys

This sounds crazy but I wonder if you guys can help me figure-out what gas is left in my reserve ?

I have a 5gal. gas tank with: 0.4 in reserve.

My question is: HOW MUCH IS 0.4 IN GAS

At times I go on reserve and wonder How much do I have in there ? to get to the nearest gas station.

Thanks guys

1.5 liters. Hope that helps

It's about a quart and a half - maybe 15-20 miles or so if you're getting 40-50 mpg...

"MATH wasn't not my best subject". And English was?

Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, .4 gal is 4/10 of a gallon, just under 1/2 gallon.

.4 is just under a half gallon. In theory if you get 40 mpg you have approximately 16 miles left. But I doubt you'll get very drop of that out so when you're on reserve you need gas pretty soon.

A double negative = a positive...so OP has competent math skills but wants us to do his work for him, eh?

I was a math major in high school so I feel qualified to answer the question. When you switch to reserve and the reserve holds 0.4 gallons that is exactly enough to get you within one mile of the nearest gas station.

The same gas that was in the rest of the tank

I have a 5gal. gas tank with: 0.4 in reserve.

My question is: HOW MUCH IS 0.4 IN GAS * *

At times I go on reserve and wonder How much do I have in there ? to get to the nearest gas station.

0.4 in gas means that when you run out of gas you will be exactly 4/10 of a mile from the nearest gas station.

Thanks guys

Any time. Always glad to help.
