Gatlinburg hotels
We are headed to Gatlinburg. Any recommendations on motorcycle friendly hotels? We would like to stay close to Gatlinburg so we can park the bikes and have a couple drinks in the evening after our day of riding. Thanks

We went about a month ago with those exact thoughts in mind. We stayed at the clarion hotel in gatlinburg. It was nice with a sheltered outdoor pool/hot tub. Parking was one way in and a gate on the exits nod the entire lot is fenced in. You can ask for a parking lot facing room which are cheaper to keep an eye on your bike. Smoky mountian brewery is right behind it also that hogs bar is within 10 min or less walk. And your about 1/4 mile from the entrance to smokey mountian national park.

I can remember when Gatlinberg and Pigeon Forge were nice places. Now they are the Smokies answer to Wally World. Last year I made the mistake of going thru both after a ride thru Great Smokies Natl Park. After getting every light at least twice my motor was so hot I had to stop and let it cool down.
The most hideous overcrowded hell hole imaginable. Never again.

Gatlinburg Inn. Right on the main drag in G burg. Motorcycles are not a problem for them. They will appreciate your business. Old school hotel. All the rooms were restored about 18 months ago. Really has the classic feel from the 60s,70s. But not small cramped rooms. Amazingly quiet even though it's on the main drag, right beside the chair lift, near the gondola that goes to Ober Gburg. A short walk to Smokey Mountain Brewery etc.

We were there about three weeks ago. The place we stayed at was called River Edge Motor Lodge. Nothing fancy/inexpensive but was clean and got breakfast. Also you want to hit the distilleries on the main street. Our favorite was http://olesmoky.com/ ,there are 3-4 of them, one could make an evening of just sampling!

not a bad price either. But if you want to do it right, rent a Chalet for not much more!

My family and another couple who rides went together in April when kids were on spring break. We stayed 3 nights in a cabin up in the hills, believe it was Diamond Rentals. It was quiet, relaxing, and very comfortable. Not close enough to walk to/from town, but we really wanted to just relax anyway. The cabin had satellite tv, pretty big hot tub, grill, pool table, full kitchen, 2 decks, 3 king beds. We split the cost down the middle and it was right at $500 for the 3 nights, total. Would definitely do it again.
