Default Pick a Rally

I've done Daytona 3 times, and Sturgis once. I loved both of them for different reasons, and will most likely go back to each of them at some point. I'm curious about a few other rallies though, specifically Laconia, BBB in Arkansas, and the Lone Star Rally in Galveston.

Can anyone compare/contrast these other rallies?

BTW- I'm not interested in any "All Rallies suck, go the week before, turn your radio down, get off my lawn" stuff. Just personal experiences about the listed rallies or some other rally that should be on my short list.

The Lonestar rally was a real blast when it began but it is getting more and more controlled. It is not a campground rally but more like Daytona in my way of thinking. Lots of bikes, lots of people, same vendors, good food but crowded. Galveston is a unique island. I spend lots of time in Galveston.

UNBELIEVABLE. After going to Algona I could care less if I ever go back to Sturgis.

Freedom Rally is an old school rally. Cheep beer and tit-ties. The rally grounds are private property. Funds go to support bikers rights.

I like the smaller events. Too many people usually destroys the fun.

Lone Star Rally last year was freak'n packed! It was still good though. I've been wanting to get to Thunder Beach and Blues Bikes and BBQ.

I don't have as much experience with the rally scene as others. I have been to one large rally--Sturgis--and a number of smaller affairs. But I am starting to get the impression that if you've seen one, you've seen them all.

One of my faves is Thunder in the Valley held in Johnstown Pa. Smaller but a beautiful place to ride.

I liked Sturgis. Lots of places to see, people to talk to, and just a lot of fun. Ditto on the Thunder in the Valley. Great setting and friendly folks. And the Roar on the Shore in Erie, Pa. is getting better every year. Over 100,000 attendance last year and several blocks of downtown blocked off for bikes only.
