Default bell 500 pain in the neck?

I bought one of the Bell 500's that was on the closeout awhile back, and I have been using it for the past few weeks. I have noticed that after I ride even a short distance I am getting a sore neck. I was hoping that it would go away, but it has not improved. I took a good look at it today and I noticed that it is real hard around the inside back edge, where it makes contact with your neck.
Has anyone else had the same issue?

I have 2 Bell 500s and no issues but every head is different. Try rotating the helmet forward to get the back off your neck.

Thank you, I have tried that and it works for a bit. I think the answer is that all heads are different and the Bell 500 is just not for me. I thought that my modular helmet had a softer back, I will check that when I get home.
