Unhappy Went down on my Road King today

Buddy and I were having a great ride through some serious twisties. Got separated and I was going along quite cautiously as we had been skirting rain all day and the road was wet. Came around a very sharp curve and a cage was 2/3 on my side of the road running me into a guardrail. Engine guard took a beating but still got my gas tank damaged, front fender crushed (had to pry it away from the tire with a bar which some fine Oklahoma riders stopped to help found) apes twisted and my Memphis Shades fairing was DOA. Truck Lite has an abrasion and the etra length ring for it is trashed. Pretty sure my right thumb is broken so will go to the hospital tomorrow. For now Oxy and liquid meds will do. Contacted insurance and adjuster will be out next week. Heck of it is my Road Glide is in the shop getting the tranny replaced. At least it has cruise control....

But after riding most of my life and this being the first true lay down accident I am thanking God. I pray for each and every ride and this could have been much worse.

Dang son, glad that was all the damage that happened. Good to hear you are on this side of the grass. The bike can be fixed. Rest well and recoup.

Terrible to hear, but at least you came out relatively unscathed. Heal up and get back to riding.

Glad you made it but when I read "twisties" and "wet road", that just spells danger. I hate twisting roads while my wife likes them but she's not the one having to deal with them.

Scary!! That is one of my biggest fears. Has happened more than once, but fortunately I had room to maneuver. Godspeed, and hope the other bike gets fixed quick.

Man that's sad news. Happy you weren't hurt any worse than maybe a thumb.

Did the car stop at all?
