Default Windshield vs Batwing Fairing

I've been debating which to go with, a HD windshield or a aftermarket batwing for my 2003 Dyna Low Rider. I've had a Sportster with a windshield but I've never rode a bike with a Batwing fairing. I'd like to hear from anyone that has had both and what the differences are riding with a Batwing Fairing.

Thanks.

No comparison. Fairing hands down. Just trashed a Memphis Shades fairing when taken out by a cage on my Road King. Try one and ask your OL if she notices a difference. Mine sure does.

the fairing will move more air. and has hand guards. some have stereo mounts and speakers. storage and power points.

windshields dont. and are generally much cheaper.

I think the fairing is more aerodynamic as well

I have used a windshield on my softail, for long trips, for years. This year I switched to a Memphis Shades batwing fairing and I'll probably never use a windshield again - huge difference. No more whirlwind beating my head through the whole trip. The wind over the fairing is much smoother. My next Harley will be a "glide" with a fairing.
