Hard bag latches on Road King
I have read in these threads some of yall refer to the other latch as hockey puck latch. Could I get more info from those with experience. Thanks, it will be greatly needed, I'm lookin at an '08 Road King with them. "I know... it will be mine to choose".

Yes, cop bags are the only ones that use the hockey puck lid. That doesn't mean that someone cannot put cop bags on a regular bike though.

Anyone ever have hard bags come open while riding? I did recently, someone at a light pointed it out to me and let me pull over in front of them to close it. The road was rough and they were not locked.

Riding through D.C. last spring I saw a guy blow by on a Street Glide weaving around 6 lanes of rush hour traffic with his saddlebag lid flapping like a woman's lips at a bar. Took awhile but I caught up and pointed it out. I like my leather bags- don't even need to click 'em and they stay shut.

I lost two lids on my 92 flhs. I tried to buy locks at 5 harley shops. Each one told me they dont sell parts for 1992 flhs any more. It was the same locks on all tour packs. Bags will fly open.

Thanks for the intel. I called the dealer where this Road King is, there are locks on bags with the same key as ignition. They locked bags and tried to open latch, lid did not open. It's not a rough road? Do yall think that's a good thing?

Seriously? You are thinking about buying a road king and worrying about latches not being secure? Maybe it will be a flat tire.....shift lever coming loose.....throttle cable snapping....a lot of things could go wrong. Get the bike and quit worrying about it!
