I am the proud owner of a '14 Ultra Limited. Why I post here is my bike DOESN'T have any recalls! This is according to the dealer that did my 1k service. I notice today that the latest brake recall is for bikes built before May 7th 2014. I know my bike was built in May but not the day.
Is there a way to find the exact day my bike was built?

 

On the left side, lower down tube, the date should be marked. Mine was built on 6/14/14.

 

Does yours say 6/14/14 or does it say only 6/14? That is why I am confused. Mine say 5/14 NOT 5/14/14. To make this add to my confusion my last Ultra's date read 3/05 and it was a 2005 so was it built on the 5th of march or just any old day in march of 2005? I should actually ask this about my current ride with the 5/14 date. lol

 

It's always month and year. It will never have the day.

My 2013 fxdf did have a factory born on date with month, day and year. It came with all the paper work when I took delivery at the dealer

Ok so then there is no way to tell the actual date of manufacture from the vin number.

 

True but your dealer can tell you your bike's BOD. Mine was 09/04/2013.

 

If recalls and such are your concern, you can check that information on your own by going to the HD web site and creating a profile for your bike.

Not to mention the fact that if your are the first owner of a bike HD has your info and would send you a recall notice in the mail.
