I was coming home today from having my bike serviced and was on a busy 2 lane(made even busier by floods and detours), when I met a pickup and was immediately hit by what I thought was a rock. It turns out, I'm pretty sure it was a paintball! My left mirror took the most direct hit followed by my left hand. My knuckles and mirror were covered in green paint. There was green splatter on the inside fairing, tank, my left leg, saddlebag and trunk. I can't think of any other thing that would have done this. I usually watch out for deer and left turners, now I'll have to add paintball guns! Just glad it didn't hit me in the face.

Illinois. It is a a war zone in the inner cities while the suburb riders get paint balled.

Well that sucks, I'd move.

 

That would hack me off to no end for sure. Let's hope these slap happy punks don't start using Air Soft gun because some of those have enough hoot to knock you off the bike if hit in the face.

People are bored to the point they're doing "drive bys" or sniping, just without real guns. It's all fun until someone gets a real gun for revenge. And I can't blame them.

 

That's effed up on a huge scale.
Imagine taking one of those from an oncoming in the mouth, or neck....

I don't see this as people being bored. It's called wickedness. Police need to be wised up to this activity and a message sent that if a motorcyclist is hurt from such a thing the charge will be attempted murder.

 

I got hit in the chest with an egg once. Stung like a ****.

 

Seem to remember some kids doing jail time for shooting pedestrians with a paint ball gun a few years ago, they were dumb enough to film themselves doing it and put it on the net, probably funny if your the one pulling the trigger, not to good if your on the receiving end, especially if your riding a bike.

 

Superspeed348, I'm certain it wasn't a bug. No blood or bug body parts, just bright green splatter. It made a loud pop when it hit and my first thought was a rock hit the windshield/fairing.
I did let the local sheriff's office know what happened.
