Default Should HARLEY-DAVIDSON offer a CVT?

CVT (Continously Variable Transmission) technology has been around for ever! Currently motor scooters, cars, and heavy equipment operate with CVT's. In general our cars, and yes even our trucks, that we own have automatic transmissions. My former toy (and daily driver) was a BMW Z4 with a six speed manual transmission, then after riding a Vespa & then a Suzuki Burgman, both with CVT's, for several years, I got got rid of them all (Z4 included) and bought a 2014 Limited. I love this bike but frankly I hate the transmission. The Limited has every capability I desire, I just miss the convenience of the CVT!! The Limited is, weather permitting, my daily driver. I have a mix of Inter-State, back roads, and urban street riding. I've owned the bike since the end of February and have put 3800 miles on it, none of them trips. For me the six speed manual offers no extra riding pleasure and a CVT would not distract from my riding pleasure.

I'm curious if there are other Harley Tour Bike riders that feel the same way.

DISCLAIMER. I am a retired professional pilot. I have no relationship with HARLEY-DAVIDSON nor any CVT manufacture nor do I own any stock in any of these companies!! lol

Absolutely not. Next thing you know, they will be offering water cooled engines and factory GPS

OMG, there for a minute I thought you meant C. V. "Trike"!

There comes a point where things are dumbed-down enough for everyone to use...that's when I lose interest. As a pilot I would have figured you would like the changing of the gears, sound of the engine, and feel of the transmission.

There is a difference between a CVT and an automatic transmission.

BIG difference.
