Default Big Nick's Ride

There were aprox 900 bikes on Big Nick's Ride today raising money and awareness for Gold Star Families and veterans. Great turnout.

Great Ride! State Police motorcycle escorted with five towns shutting down all access for cars. Hundreds and hundreds of specters along the route supporting riders and cause, waving flags. Twelve gold star families and a very powerful, moving address by Big Nick's dad who is also an organizer. Got a 5 from him riding into the destination.

Approx 900 bikes and maybe 2000 peeps at the destination. No accidents, just a few breakdowns along the way. Great day. Great weather. Great Ride.

I'm glad to hear riders had a good time. Just to clarify, the State Police only handled a few of the bigger intersections on the state roads. The MC escorts were handled by the regional unit of local police department motorcycles assisted by some off Cape motors. The only reason I bring it up is because I am a part of the Cape Cod Regional Motor Unit. We have been working very hard to be able to provide the type of service provided while keeping everyone safe. Along with all of the riders and awesome members of the public, a big thanks needs to go out to Sgt. Andrew McKenna of the Barnstable PD and Sgt. Frank Hennessey of the Yarmouth PD for their planning that lead to an incident free ride.

Awesome job Neil, CCRMU and all. Thanks! 6A could have easily been a disaster if it wasn't handled so well. It took some serious cajones and confidence in the implementation to pass the pack forward and provide that high level of support. 900 bikes, thousands of people, zero problems. Outstanding. Great to see so much patriotic support too.

It's been a very rewarding ride every year I have done it. The residents and visitors of Cape Cod have really done a great job at showing just what an AWESOME country we live in!!
