Default IF harley started selling bike frames would you try to build your own custom bike ?

They have over 10,000 parts to put on a bike including complete motors. So why not sell some frames so we can actually build a complete bike .

cool idea, the only thing i can think of as far as being a problem would be any kind of warranty...i cant imagine the moco offering one if they dont have control over the build... but i think i would get a frame and start from scratch and build my own, and like firsttwincam said it would have to be priced cheap enough to be enticing

Damn right I would, and faster than a cat could lick his ***. I would start with a 2000 and something Dyna FXDP frame, and a Fat Boy front end, and build my own version of a switch back.

There's dozens of places selling aftermarket frames that are better quality than stock, unless you're after a factory title which you cannot get unless the factory builds the bike what's the point ?

There are a ton of great frames out there already. I can just imagine how overpriced one with an actual Harley badge would be.

I'd rather they gave me the option of a factory build using parts of my choosing. Make the HD1 program from the ground up.

If I really wanted to build a custom bike from a bare frame though, I'm not going to use HD parts. Too expensive.

There are places that sell undamaged frames from salvage bikes. When these are put together and taken to DMV they are issued "rebuilt" titles. Not much different than an "assembled" bike title. At least the rebuilt titled bike still calls it a Harley on the title.

I bought a salvage 09 Ultra just for the frame, wiring, electrics, trans and suspension components. Over time I want to build a Ultra shark.
