Be careful out there....

N.D. motorcycling trio caught going 100 mph over the speed limit

Updated: July 24, 2014 - 7:33 PM

Three motorcyclists were doing more than pushing their machines past 100 miles per hour. North Dakota law enforcers say the trio was going 100 miles per hour over the speed limit.

The high-performance motorcycles were pulled over Wednesday night on Hwy. 57 about 3 miles west of Fort Totten on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation in northeastern North Dakota, having topped out at 155 mph, according to the State Patrol. The speed limit there is 55 mph.

“The trooper hit the lights [on his squad car], and they just pulled over,” Patrol Sgt. Robert Kennedy said.

The three were each given $355 tickets, and one was also cited for not being licensed to operate a motorcycle, Kennedy said.

He declined to identify the men but said they were in their late 20s to early 30s and from the area.

Kennedy said the patrol has been dealing with motorcycles going well above 100 mph for many months, including in April when several were racing along and taking video of their antics.

“It has been an ongoing issue for us,” he said.

I don't think many Harley riders have to worry about doing 100 mph over the posted speed limit.

Your motor won't beat Motorola. Why add felony evasion to your rap sheet?

$355 fine seems like a bargain. Here in FL you woulda been arrested for reckless operation/driving and had to bail out. Not to mention your bike would have been impounded and you would have incurred towing and storage fee.

+1 for sure.

The Super Speeder law adds heavy fines and points that will add up to big $$.

I could be wrong on this but I think in Cali they could charge you with speed contest and confiscate the vehicles and crush them. Of course you'd be in jail as well.

You want to go that fast? Go to a track. That sort of speed is called wreckless endangerment. The three of them should have been arrested and the bikes impounded.
