Always suspected I was an idiot, but perhaps I've confirmed it

I do 6 miles to and from work and long rides 50-300 miles on weekends but I've never had any battery trouble...yet.

My OEM battery lasted from Oct 2005 when I bought it until summer of 2013. It was on a battery tender almost every night during that time. The battery is still doing duty in a garden tractor, also on a tender.
I only changed it as I didn't want to have it go belly up suddenly out in the middle of no where.

Wow! The absolute closest destination to anywhere from my house is 14 miles, and many times I stretch that to 25-40 miles, taking the long way.
A Lithium battery is a good replacement option for short distance hops. They charge up much more quickly than lead acid.
Only a matter of time before OEM bats are Lithium.
Details on em HERE.
