i care about my mushroom head. and whether or not it gets attention.

 

I got a little mushroom head poem. Just came to me.

unfortunately, that is not true. many people go to great trouble to find a helmet that does not look like a mushroom head...to the point of wearing non DOT helmets to look cool. their families have my sympathy--they are the ones that will have to bury them or wipe their butts and feed them when they are in an accident where a quality helmet may have saved their lives or greatly reduced head trauma. and of course i feel sorry for all the taxpayers that will have to pay their medical bills. too bad it costs so much money and causes so much misery for mother nature to thin the herd.

Never made sense to me that some care more about mushroom head than they care about the helmet actually doing its job.

Seems like that is changing though. I see more and more Harley guys wearing legit helmets these days. Why not? They ride better, and protect better, than a prop on your head.

 

I mean really, any one here ever looked at a guy on a bike and said: "now that's a good looking head!"

Damn I wish I hadn't posted this to come out the way it reads. Let me point out I got 58 years of heterosexuality in. And for the record I am 58

 

Georgia has a mandatory helmet law, and lately they've started enforcing the DOT issue, but luckily I have an old VEGA XTS half shell with a visor that is oval and not round, and that the inside is a little thinner than most you get today, and it's DOT approved, and it doesn't give my big head that "Mushroom Look"! I think they discontinued these VEGA XTS or had a recall on them, I got mine in 08 when I got my current bike, and I'll keep wearing it, still looks decent.

 

When I bought my helmet, I looked for the biggest dorkiest looking half helmet I could find. Yeah I got mushroom head and I don't care how it looks.

 

At first I was thinking you were referring to the group. Music is okay BTW....

 

Actually, I guess I'm a nobody because I care. That's why I have an Akoury 88.
