Default 06 Heritage questions (may buy)

Being a newbie.....I rather ask experienced Harley guys. We just bought a 09 Heritage Classic, well she did. I saw a 06 Softail Heritage (the base one not sure the lingo so forgive me) that I really like. I understand they quit making these after 06. Looks very retro like a 50's model and not the Deluxe price tag. Has a 88B and advertised a 6 speed but would think it is a 5 speed. Only has 6K miles. It is not loaded out like our Heritage but I like that part as I can customize it as I like. Opinions on this bike please?

I had the '06 Heritage for several years and loved the hell out of it. I miss that bike.

It's a great motorcycle. With mileage that low, I'd seriously consider it.

I am seriously considering it. I think the only non-stock add ons is a windshield and highway bars. I would add a better 2 up seat, sissy bars and most likely some bags. Any difference in handling or ride between this and the Heritage Classic? We had the 96b n 6 speed on that one.

I had both and would rather the 88 and 5 speed I feel there better bikes. The 5 speed shifts way smoother and the 88 runs cooler and trust me I had two 88s with cams and big bore u miss **** on any 103 around.. They also run cooler and are quieter less moter chatter... And get around 43 mpg with moter mods

Pretty sure they only made the Heritage Softail in 2006. You'd have a rare one. Good luck.

What I have been reading yes only made in 2006. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Any ideas on 2 up riding as good as the Heritage Classic? My bud keeps hammering me to get a RK. I am not a small fella....6 ft and 250+ so my big azz will need a good seat for sure.

Go with the heratage
IMO it's the best all around bike on the market.

Strip it down for solo
ThenYou can put bags, windshield etc.. on in 10 min and go anywhere.

I thought I wanted a streetglide then I decided I would just get hard bags for my heritage

I have an 04 Heritage with te TC88 5sp. Im also 6feet and 230. The bike is like riding a sofa. One of the most comfortable bikes i've ridden or owned. My buddies who have similar, if they have a combined riders weight of 450lbs, they say tthe bike has bottomed on occasion and at that weight for long trips the RK maybe a better bike. The Heritage and the RK imho are kissing cousins, the SG is a totally different realm.. Great bike but different

At 250-plus, I'd consider the RK
