My First Drop

My First Drop
Well I knew it would happen. After a beautiful 74 mile ride I dropped my bike (FXDL) in my driveway. I cant even think what I did wrong other than I just had a fraction of a second of a lack of focus and got my left foot down too late. I really don't know. All I know is she went down real fast.
Fortunately, I put engine guards on and it saved damage. Only damage was a scrape on the left rear turn signal and scrape on the end of the clutch lever. Nothing noticeable by much.
It was my first drop. I did drop my Sporty twice while doing repairs.
I guess there are far worse place to drop your bike than your own driveway so as pissed as I am for the stupid mistake, Im thankful.

I know how you feel. I park my Ultra in the garage in a tight little spot.
One day when she was new I was backing her out and my foot slipped on the stupid slick garage surface, and she fell over in a weird way against my wife's Z3. It was a slow motion fall too. I couldn't get her back up either because the garage is so slick and the way she was leaned up against the Beemer.
Had to enlist the help of some guys working on the house next door before my wife got home. (She took my car to work) Man, that was embarrassing! At least there was no damage and I was able to buff out the scuff on the Z.

Meh, **** happens. Glad it wasn't worse.
And YES, given a choice, I think dropping it my own driveway would be first on the list. As opposed to on the street or worse, someplace with a bunch of other bikers around where my pride would take an even bigger hit.
