Default Day Maker owners,

Have any of you guys that have the day maker headlights ever had where the inside gets cloudy? I figured that its a sealed light and you can't do it anyways.
I have to pull the bulbs out of my headlight and clean the lens and the reflector to get the fogginess out of it.

I never had mine get cloudy. And I've never opened it up...even if I could, I wouldn't.

I remember a thread about this very topic but I can't locate it. IIRC, those that have experienced this have returned them to the dealer for a replacement.

They can't replace it if you don't bring the problem to their attention.

I'm pretty sure you have to be able to open if to replace bulbs if they happen to die.

no bulb to replace. if it burns out, you have to replace the whole thing. not the whole kit, but the whole light.

I have the headlight and aux lights. No problem with the headlight, but I had the "fogging" on both of my aux lights. I opened one of them up (sliced the lens off with a Dremel), and the fog is actually a very fine white powder. I cleaned the inside of the lens, applied vacuum to the rest of the unit, sucking as much as I could out of it, then glued the lens back on. The inside was coated again within a week.

They look like ****, but of course still supply plenty of light.

On my SGS I went with the HID dual bulb set up. Cost was roughly $165. But I have to clean the lens once a month, because its getting foggy. The dual bulb is a pain to clean out, so i was thinking that the Day maker lights are all sealed an they shouldn't fog up. If they do I'll just stay with what I have.

A budd had a Daymaker and LED passing lights. All had moisture inside them. Apparently this is a known problem. Moco refused to replace them because the warranty period had passed. He traded the bike, so they got them back anyway.

I was one of the first in my area to order one of the original versions, It's four years old now. No problems or fogging. My Tach and Speedometer do,Of course dealer says they all do that.
