So who thinks the 103 inch displacement is as big as the motors in the standard bikes are going to be for a while? I noticed for 2014-15, rather than go any larger, they went "HO". So does that mean for the standard non-CVO bikes, the engines are as big as we can expect for a while. Just kind of wondering.

My guess is they'll stay 103" for a few more years, then do a year or two of 110" in the touring bikes, then come out with a replacement for the Twin Cam motor in about 5 years. I have no basis for this, just my guess.

I heard that the new motor is going to be a v6 twin turbo'd 4 valve, 4 cam model, with about 400 hp!!!

(lets start the rumors right now!!)

New HD engines will be Green and eco friendly. Look for liquid cooling, direct injection, near zero emissions, high mpg and Hybrid technology. The Streets are almost there.
The V-Rod was intended as a "bridge" engine to get stoic diehards to switch from their dirty and politically incorrect Twin Cams. I wish I was joking but our government is changing HD..

Yeah, thats kind of what I was thinking. Probablly 3-5 more years of 103. Which is cool. I would like my 2013 to have whatever the largest displacement is, at least for a while. Heck, maybe till I even pay it off! But like you guys, I think there just will come a point where the MOCO redesigns the engine. We are already almost 16 years into the twin cam. Something new MUST be in the works.

seriously, I think some type of overhead cam, and multiple valves, with water cooling, you would be able to meet the epa standards.. obviously the revolution motor is there, just need a bigger version, my guess is stroke it for more torque. thats my prediction

If the intention of the V-ROD was to bridge people over.. its failed miserably.
