Ziptie Question
Sorta silly question, but important to me. My clutch cable keeps sliding down the holder thats on the down tube and the cable keeps rubbing the back of the front fender. So far no paint damage after I wax the black rubber mark off. I placed a ziptie around the cable and the down tube to pull the cable in towards the downtube some. I didnt cinch it tight but left it loose so the cable could ride a little when handlebars are turned and so it wouldnt be in an awkward position. By doing this the ziptie may ride a little up and down the downtube an inch or so as the bars are turned. Will this ziptie scratch off the paint on the downtube? Thanks guys.

cinch it down, you won't crush that cable with a 3/16 - 1/4 in. zip tie.
To answer your question I have seen zip ties and plastic vacuum lines wear through aluminum tubing (AC lines), so I'd imagine over time the powder coat would wear too.

Like was mentioned before, just cinch the ziptie tight. Just be sure there's the proper cable slack. Which, by the picture, shouldn't be an issue.

cable looks too long to me , has to make a 90 degree turn...
you may want to pull it up a little at the handlebars to make a "lazy bend"
( haven't notice the "left side cable on the newer bikes before.)

Zip tie the slack above the zip tie so you can turn the bars. That's how my clamp secures mine.

Mine was zip tied from the factory I believe. Black zip tie was on there, but I had to cut it to get more slack with the new bars.
I did not notice any damage to downtube where it was tied to, and it was snugged up tight.
