88"/5-speed VS. 96"/6-speed
I am sure this has been discussed many times, but I'm looking for a new to me Street Glide or Electra glide. I cant afford new right now, so most the ones I am looking at have the 88" with the 5-speed. For a few more grand $$, it seems I can get the 96" with the 6-speed. I know there is no replacement for displacement, but is the extra money really worth it for the extra 8ci? I know opinions are opinions too, just trying to justify if the added cost would be worth it. Any input?

You want my opinion( and I will get flamed up one side and down the other for this) Twin Cams suck!!! Buy an EVO.

But you would miss out on all the fun of tearing into your primary, engine and tranny on a regular basis.....

Yeh a six speed is worth it if you get off of Foothill Blvd. and actually travel the interstates. And I am reasonably sure you do.

Ah, you must know the I.E.
I do get out and about, but the longest travels are only a few hundred miles each way to Vegas or Laughlin. We do travel the freeways quite a bit tho

I put 50,000 miles on a 2005 88" Electra Glide. Never had trouble keeping up with 96" or 103" bikes. Only problem was a shifter shaft seal leak
