Default Gee, how insulting!!

So my bike is a 2010 Screamin Eagle Ultra. Has been a great bike but I sort of got the bug and really like the burgundy/maroon colors of the 2014s and the 2015 colors don't really grab me. So there are two dealers near me that do have the SE color I want so I head to one this morning for a check what it would take to upgrade.

Now I ride a ton and my bike has 77,000 miles but still looks like new. So I knew and expect to take a hit because of the mileage. I go to the one dealer and soon a sales guys gets on me and we talk. He goes out to inspect my bike and compliments me on its shape, checks it all out and asks about the mileage. So he says he has to call his boss who is at lunch to get a price on what my bikes worth. So after a few minutes he comes back to me and said the boss wont even give me a price on my bike because of the miles. Wow. Sort of hurt me a bit but what the heck as I do love this bike. And to boot, I have 2 1/2 years left on the EXP warranty.

ride it till the wheels fall off, if the motor gives up, you can still rebuild/replace it for so much less. its a nice bike!

That's a lot of miles for sure. I'll bet you enjoyed just about every single one of them too.

Wow, you do ride the tires off that thing. I see you live in Pa, so you only have a 8 month riding period. I can imagine if you lived in Florida you would probably have 100,000+ miles. I'm jealous, I wish I had the time to ride more but life keeps getting in the way!

Dealerships are getting "spoiled" by the "trophy bike" crowd trading their bikes in every year with 2000 miles on them.

For guys that really ride, the upside is that there are lot's of good, low mileage used bikes sitting in the showrooms....The down side is that the dealers act like a bike with some miles on it isn't worth anything.

Ride it 'til it dies and then rebuild it and ride it 'til it dies again.

i was just playing with the idea of trading in and brought in my 2009 ultra classic with 50k on it.

dealer would give me 10k-11k. thinking not so bad maybe.

plus they want to get rid of some of the 2014 to make room for the 2015s coming in so they would discount a new bike (thinking heritage classic, RK, or RK classic) for about 1k, so out the door around 7k

but haven't mentioned it to the wife and i am betting she could easily come up with any number of reasons not to - like seven thousand of them.

I bought a brand new Vic Hammer 8-ball last year for 14k. Traded it in a couple weeks ago and only got $7,500. Lesson learned.

Blows my mind how much a used Harley will still cost you. You've got to give them props holding their value. I'm surprised the boss won't give you a price at all...

The manager sounds like a simpleton. Cut him some slack, he prolly can't add over the phone.

You could just paint your bike over winter the color you like and keep riding it?

Find another dealer. Any bikes they cant sell from their showroom for whatever reason they pass down the line to smaller bike traders. He obviously could not be bothered to pick up the phone to get a quote.
