I hate hearing about Helmet laws
If you don't like wearing a helmet, move to a non helmet state. The law needs to crack down on texting or talking while driving. When I'm out riding I see 4 out of 10 cars are either talking or texting.. Not wearing a helmet only could hurt me, talking or texting while driving could hurt a lot more people.
Any comments???..

Had a a girl veer in my lane while running code 3 in an engine the other day to a MVA-PI; surprisingly caused by a twenty something girl texting. Took 2 1/2 hours to remove tractor trailer from ditch on a two lane.

I don't know what's worse... Texting, or riding a metric.

That cop picture says a lot. Geez.
Anyway, I think most riders who don't like helmets have also never really tried a modern helmet for any legitimate period of time.
I wear a full and prefer it over smaller helmets, and of course, over no helmet at all. It not only protects me better, but simply rides better.
You have to find the right helmet through research and trial and error. And you have to size it correctly and give it some time to break in. (A ton or riders think a helmet is too small, but they take a good month of consistent riding to fit correctly. They don't give it that time, and end up buying one too big that lifts at speed.)
There are so many good options out there, both DOT and Snell approved. They are not like the helmets of 15, 10, or even 5 years ago.
