Default Last ride for a while

Got to go our this morning for a nice ride to the Gulf. I skirted the storms for a full 3 hours. As soon as I pulled in the garage the sky fell out. It was like the black cloud was chasing me all morning but just couldn't catch me. That was the good. Now at the airport hotel in Orlando getting ready to catch an early flight to Aruba for 8 days of r&r, the better.

Then Monday the 8th, the day after my return, I go into the hospital for bladder reconstruction surgery and urethral reline. Yep, gonna be cut from hole to hole. OUCH!! Then after a week in the hospital, I get to wear my own personal catheter for another month. So it looks like my next ride will be mid October at the earliest, though the doctor said probably January at the earliest. I'll bet it'll be closer to my day then his. Until then I'll have to ride through the forums. I'll do what I can to provide entertainment, hope y'all do the same.

By the way, if you have a strong stomach or are just a sick person, there are videos of the surgery on youtube.

Strap the bag onto the bike and tell everyone its a new engine oil bag. You'd be surprised how many people will head to the parts counter, lol

Get well soon and don't rush your recovery. And I'll pass on the video too.

Enjoy the R&R, Godspeed on your recovery. I'm with you, I'll bet you'll beat your doc's estimate on when you ride again.

But, don't push it too much!

Agreed. Don"t rush the recovery. It's better to loose a few more months of riding, than to have a stitch or internal scar rip open. The only thing worse than having surgery on something once is to have two surgeries on the same thing because the first one wasn't given the chance to fully heal.
My uncle had knee surgery. He wouldn't sit his *** on a chair for a few months and do his rehab exercises recommended by his doctors. He had to have 2 more surgeries, and it's still not quite right. All because he's always on the go, on his feet, riding his pedal bike.
Things need time to heal.
