I am going to make an odd recommendation. Do not buy the suit as a set. Buy the top and the bottom separate.
I bought the Harley Hi Vis suit online and despite all the measurements, it did not fit. To get the top to fit, the bottom would not and vice versa. I sold the suit on eBay shortly after buying it and haven't gotten around to buying another one.

But.... after purchasing the used set, I was told that the Xelement Bone Dry suit is the exact samething minus the HD logo and price. I took a look at them online at http://www.leatherup.com/c/Xelement-...ear/2/166.html and they sure look exactly the same to me except at 1/3rd the price of the HD suit.

My first Tourmaster suit lasted about 20 years. A year ago I got a Nelson Rig suit on sale from Dennis Kirk. I would say it's equivalent in quality to the HD suits, and is also reflectorized.
The odd thing is, the zipper is backwards, with the zipper pull on the left instead of the right. I've wondered if that's why DK had such a good price on it.
A good suit will have material in the legs that won't melt on the pipes. Even the cheap Frogg Toggs now have that available on some of their suits.

I found a used Hi-Vis on Ebay for $90. I used it 3 - 4 times on my ride to Sturgis this year and it worked great. I would definitely recommend it.

I may have to re-think the HD suit after looking at the prices of the X-element stuff. What about the boot covers? I know I am asking opinions and we all know what they say about those...

It probably depends on what kind of boots you wear. I wear the old style classic harness style high leather boots (pull on, no laces) and treat them with Doc Bailey's leather black about once a quarter. This keeps them relatively waterproof. I've ridden in ALOT of rain on tours and my feet have never gotten wet, even when I'm riding in rain all day long. So I don't need and don't use boot covers. If you wear lace ups (where water can potentially get in depending on whether the tongue is sealed), or shorter boots or non-leather footwear, it's probably a good idea.
