Switching over to synthetic
When do most of you switch over to synthetic. I've got 1000 miles on my new bike, and i'am undecided if I should change over now, or wait for one more oil change.
Thanks in advance Jonnierock

Last two new Harley's I've owned, I switched to Mobil 1 V-twin at the first service. My current 13 Heritage is so much more quieter shifting with the Mobil 1 75-140 gear lube.
Today I demoed four new bikes at demo day here in Denver. CVO Ultra, CVO Streetglide, Ultra Classic Low, and the Freewheeler. All were really clunk clank noisy!

I can, as a modern engineer, not think of only ONE condition why you should NOT change from day 1 to synthetic oil. The advantages are so obvious, the lubrication quality and heat resistance (supposed you choose the right type and grade of synthetic) are so overwhelming superior that is is me a complete riddle why manufacturers like Harley don't change standard to synthetic oils. Here in Saudi, with temps exceeding 110 F regularly mineral oil will even have no change to be applied without a change every 2000 miles, overheated and saturated.
Synthetic oils (in combination with an oil cooler to improve the life time as well) are so superior nowadays, with the right additives already mixed from the producer, that I will never operate an engine (or motorbike) with 'natural' oil anymore.
