What is it with non-riders and motorcycles?

If I hear one more person tell me this week how dangerous or how many people they know that were hurt in a bike accident, I swear I am gonna lose it! Rant over.

Was a captive audience to a hotel shuttle driver who had to go in great detail of an accident he supposedly worked as a volunteer medic. Yeah, I get it... physics isn't on our side. Just get sick of people trying to "scare" me off my bike. Gets annoying

Dunno who you are hanging out with, but no one has said that to me in over 30 years. It was a cousin who lectured me on the dangers of motorcycles when I showed up at a family Thanksgiving feast on my GoldWing. (yes, even Dickey was once a member of the lower class of untouchables) all the while with a cigarette hangin' outta his mush. (Back when it was acceptable to light up anywhere, including a guest's house).
Guess what he eventually died from?

Maybe they have lost someone close and don't think the risk is worth the reward. And they are merely expressing their opinion. Like those of us here.

Interesting article in our local paper, fatalities are up but its not cars running into bikes, its non experienced riders wrecking themselves. Sturgis Rally reports the same, mostly riders loosing it, and on left hand sweepers. People are whats dangerous, too many crazy people riding that should have stuck to playing golf.

I just tell them that I'd rather live for a little while that way I want to than live a long time hiding under my bed like a fcukin' ***** all of my life.
My dad used to tell me that I was gonna die young on my bike, all the while chain smoking his Camel straights....He died from lung cancer at a younger age than I am now.
You're gonna die from something, someday.....You might as well enjoy the time you have, 'cause you're gonna be dead for a really long time.
