I rode a hundred yards today !
Last time I rode my bike, I ended up in the hospital seriously ill ( nothing to do with the bike ). I'm still not fully recovered, and my wife is adamant that i am not strong enough to ride. Between me and you, she's a nurse. She knew I was sick before i realised it (my kidneys had shut down), and she's a better judge than i am about these things but it hasn't stopped me from lobbying to get on the bike. I seriously believe it'd be great therapy for me.
So today, I had to back the bike into the driveway to take care of some post-earthquake cleanup in the garage. I didn't want to start the bike after it was sitting for a month just to roll it forward ten feet, so I rode down to the corner and back. Damn, I miss riding.
My wife is going to work Tuesday. I getter get home before she does.

I hear you brother. I had a heart attack on 8/21 and am feeling fine now (Well.....not 100% but a solid 87%) but my wife says NO riding! Which is almost funny, because Ive never seen here so damn bossy!
So, here I sit, reading this forum, reading about bikes and learning things I never knew I needed to know.
To top it off.....She says NO BEER! either.
Lifes just not fair sometimes.

Now, I can see that beer might not be good for the kidneys (although the concern when I went in the hospital was I wasn't having to pee, and beer would've fixed that !), but you'd think beer would thin your blood and lighten the load on your heart.
I'm so sick of water. Get well soon, man

great news! Keep healing, and wait a little longer, our weather is ride friendly most of the year around. (Yes, its very cold up there by you northerners!)

Glad you're feeling better and on the mend. Just take it slow and listen to the wife. Got a nurse for a wife too, probably a good thing for us both!!

On the other hand, in the last two years my weight has dropped from 230 to 170, and I no longer resemble a lard truck. There are silver linings to every cloud, I reckon.
At any rate, youse guys, try not to rush the healing process. There's no crime in taking it easy for a while while you recover.
