Selling goods here without paypal??
I am pulling parts off my new 14 SG and was thinking of selling some of them instead of letting them take up space. I gave up ebay and paypal several years ago and was thinking about offering the take-off stuff in the classifieds here.
My question is, is there an alternative to paypal that is safe? Thanks.

I only use PayPal and especially when buying from forum members. Most selling in classifieds have a very low post count. Just not very trusting. But if is the fees that PayPal has you can always request being paid as a friend and exchanging mailing information.

Better yet, just add the paypal 4% on the price. Then everyone is comfortable.

Yeah, I don't have many posts here, mainly a stalker.
Our Craigslist nearly impossible to get results from since the population here is so low. I've sold a few things here and there but I doubt that someone is going to need white saddlebags in my area.
And, the paypal issue isn't about the fees. They decided to freeze my account for 3 months while I had almost a grand in there. After dozens of phone calls, they finally unfroze it and apologized. Horrible phone runaround.

I have sold some things on here. I do not have things worth hundreds of dollars.......so I have in the past, just said send me a twenty $ Bill with your return address...I have even sold things that eventually cost me more to mail that what I go for the damn thing. But in the end, it is kharma. I gave up years ago becoming rich. If I lose a buck, I will make it back.
I was raised learning that a hand shake was a mans oath. You want to break your oath over twenty bucks...you are 'worth less'. (hence the term worthless.)
Good luck in your sales.

IMO, if you want to sell parts here, you're going to need to use PayPal. It works best for both parties. Who's going to send your a postal money order and hope for the best? If you want to sell, you have to make buying easy and offer the buyer protection. I've done several thousands through PayPal over the past decade and never had an issue.

Over the past few months, I've sold some parts I had sitting around.
Over $20, I'd ask for a postal money order. I could cash it at the post office and use the money to pay for the shipping.
At least one item @$20, I just suggested the buyer send a $20 bill. Worked fine.
If I was buying, I'd have no problems sending a P.O. money order to the seller....
