Default 75th here we come!

Just booked for the 75th anniversary in Lead. Has anyone stayed there before during the rally? Wanted to see if there is anything going on in town.

This will be our first time out during the rally!

Based on my limited experience in the area and from what I saw at the rally, I can say that there is something going on everywhere during the rally. Any of the towns--lead, deadwood, custer, spearfish,Hill City, etc..will be wall-to-wall bikes and people. Downtown Sturgis just appears to be party central.

We booked in Lead too. Will be there from 1st-9th. Pick a town within 200 miles of Sturgis & they've got some kind of festival going on. Everywhere you go there's a good time!!

Just booked my campsite just outside of Deadwood today! As others have said, lots to do regardless of where you stay.

We'll be there 8/2 - 8/9 at the Town Hall Inn. It's going to be a blast, can't wait.

Plan on staying in a tent at glencoe. Is there any advantage to book early vs a month out? I know they raise the price but not very much is my understanding. I'd rather have the flexibility to change plans during the next 10 months.......

Don't know about Glencoe, but when I booked at Wild Bills outside of Deadwood I was told they expected to be fully booked in a couple of days. And, they just opened up the reservation process today, 9/1.
