Default Sissy bar talk

Hey guys. Have a 2014 Street bob and need to get a sissy bar for it. Just wondering if you guys have any ideas for a cheap way to go rather than paying $300 for a sissy bar. Can I use a sissy bar from other model Harleys? Also, I have been told that you need to relocate the turn signals and license plate in order put a sissy bar on the street bob. Is this true? Any advice helps. Thanks!

You might try an after market sissy bar, but you will always
get only what you pay for. Oh yeah and one more thing your
bike would look awesome with a cross bones sissy bar on it,
and that aint no joke.

Have you looked on eBay? There's a lot of folks selling both OEM and aftermarket stuff on there. Some prices are reasonable, and some folks are smoking crack
It's worth taking a peek. Also, keep an eye on the classified section on this forum. Tons of users are posting daily. It's a bit like a virtual swap meet.

Good luck!

You first need to choose side plates and then choose a bar to fit the plates. I too picked up a sissy bar cheap on ebay.
Aftermarket is half price compared to HD stuff.

I was thinking that this thread was referring to something else entirely. Never mind, not that there's anything wrong with that! Carry on.

Haha thanks guys for the responses. I will look at all the options you guys suggested. No one answered the last part though...do I need to relocate the plate and turn signals prior to a sissy bar installation? Thanks again all!

I'm not sure - don't have a Street Bob. Might depend on the product you chose.

Did you try looking it up on the H-D site? That will tell you if your signals will be in the way of side plates because will say something like "relocation kit necessary".

Coolest sissy bar I ever saw was made of welded together daggers and had a .38 revolver pistol welded into it too. Guy must have been a welder by trade to do it.
