Hey guys, does anyone know if it is possible to modify a newer Harley air cleaner setup (08-15 models) to fit the pre-07 CV carbs or FI intake? looking at photos it looks like they shifted the 3 bolt holes on the newer air cleaner setups, versus the earlier setups. Would it be possible to re-drill the old bolt pattern in the backing plate of an air cleaner that is setup for the new design, to fit the older CV carb design?

Yes I think so I had a 2000 FXDWG with a foot ball air cleaner cover. Are you wanting to know for the air cleaner as a whole or just a cover? Out of curiosity

I'm talking about the whole air cleaner. I saw an air cleaner I like for one of my bikes, but it fits the newer throttle body design of the 08-newer bikes. Mine has the older 07-earlier style CV carb. But it looks like all a person would have to do is drill the old offset bolt pattern in the new back plate, and it would install right on the CV carb bolt pattern.
