Cheapest way to make my bike go faster
Way back in the day when I walked into the service department at the old Williams HD in NJ (the old building, not the new fancy schmancy one), puffed up my chest real big and blurted out...
"What's the CHEAPEST way to get this bike to go faster?"
The old boy writing service tickets glance up at me over his glasses, and without missing a beat said "Lose 50 pounds?"
Gotta admit they got lots of $$ on go-fast stuff for me after that.

When I drop 120lbs (leave tho OL at home), I notice a big difference. Although, I miss her **** pressed against my back. Let's see: more speed or ****? Kind of a no brainer for me...

Told a guy wanting budget performance mods to put a solo seat on after seeing his wife, he didn't come back.

Cheapest way to make your bike go faster? Buy a bike that is made for speed. I've seen people toss thousands of dollars at their Harleys to get 100hp/100 tq or better. Buy a sport bike and is comes with 150+hp from the factory. I has a cvo king with 110 stage 4. It was quick but wouldn't hold a candle to my current triumph tiger explorer.

Let's assume that he doesn't want a sport bike, or he would have bought one.
The cheapest way to get the bike to run stronger is to open up the breather, exhaust and add a set of cams.
That'll get you the most bang for your buck. If the bike is carb'd, you can re jet, if not, you're gonna have to get a tune as well.
It isn't gonna be cheap, it never is.
