Default Should I trade my softail deluxe for a new RG....

I have a 2013 Softail Deluxe that I absolutely love and I have yet to see another one in my color on the road, but I do love the new Roadglides and I have been wanting a bike with bags. not to mention the radio is a nice touch. What do you guys think?

NO NO NO a thousand times NO!!

Just put bags on the Deluxe; it's a much better looking bike than the RG. Classy. Everybody & his brother has a SG or a RG. Few have a Deluxe, especially in that color.

I'd dump the apes, though, for beach or Fatboy bars, but that's just me. Also the pipes. Apes & shorty pipes look out of place on an elegant bike like the Deluxe. Kinda like a racing strip on a Lincoln Town Car.

Ding ding ding!!! We have a winner.

Exactly, all of it; including dumping the apes.

Bags? Hog Deluxe springer style bags would look great. And, you can get stereo/radio/mp3 players and speakers that can be mounted to the bars. I've seen some set ups that are hardly noticeable.

You love the bike?? Keep it and make it yours.

Yes absolutely. I can't believe you have to ask. If it wasn't for the fact I have no interest whatsoever in anything other than the bikes I own I would be on a new road glide right now.

This. And by asking/wondering, you're a step closer to doing it. Go for it.

Not my Circus, not my monkey but, since you asked, I'll side with Dickey on this. Thats a beautiful bike to ditch for the sake of some bags and a radio. No point in tearing your *** all to hell when all you need to do is scratch it.

As to bars, or whatever, that brings up another point I think. The Deluxe is one of those models that allows for quite a high degree of customization beyond just paint. The big resin ships must be tougher to make unique looking no ?

I agree with Dickey. Last week at the dragon I saw a heritage with a set of painted to match new ('14-later) hard bags and it looked amazing. Add a set of duals out the back to complete the look. B motor Softails tour as nice as a touring rig IMO.
