I've had suspension squeak / chirp. Take some spray lube and go nuts, maybe the noise will disappear

Default the noise

I have worked on cars for long time and these type of problems can drive you nuts. Most is the time it is something stupid that you would not have thought could make noise. You could try running it with one plug wire off at a time to see if you can make the noise go away,or check the spark plugs to see if you have carbon blowing around the center on the top side of the plug. Also try adding a few oz.of 2 stroke oil to the fuel to see if you have a valve making noise from carbon that will form in the stem of the valve when the guides are a little worn.

When the compensator was off did they also check the teeth on rotor on stator? I had similar problem with strange sound. Primary oil was clear without any shawings?

I guess I don't know that. Will take the advice and check it when I start teardown. Thank you.

I have no update yet. Because I have been through the primary and the cam chest, I think I have to tear the engine down again this winter. I am guessing it has to be the crankshaft bearing on the left side. Nothing else is spinning under all conditions except the chain and engine. I didn't do the Timken bearings in the cases when I had it apart at 10k. I had no desire to go over 100 HP or Ft Lb so didn't see the need to do the bearings. Wish I had. At the time general consensus was that if you stayed under 100/100 the stock bearings would be OK. I haven't had it dynoed but the service manager was impressed so maybe it's too strong for the stock bearings.

Have you tried spraying a little lube on the front stabilizer? The one that bolts to the front cylinder head and to the frame, I have had those squeak where they bolt to the frame, a little lube and the noise was gone
