Default proper gas cap

Bought aftermarket 6 gal tanks for my 98 Fatboy...the oem caps do not fit. Anyone encounter a similar problem? I want the ratcheting type cap like the originals. I need to order the proper year because apparently the aftmkt tanks require a different year/size. Thanks for your time.

You may not be able to get similar caps to your originals, as you will limited by what is available for that tank. The supplier should be able to tell you what caps will work with it. You may also get better help from the Softail forum.
