Default Evo air cleaner cover on a twin cam

I've always liked the stock Evo air cleaner covers, with the brushed aluminum trim rings. I have a new Deluxe with the stock football cover, but I'm going to be installing the SE stage 1 air cleaner for the twin cam and was wondering if an Evo air cleaner cover would fit over it (assuming I can find a used one in good condition or NOS). I can't remember if the Evo cover is 7" or 8" in diameter, or if it even matters. Anyone know if this will work?

edit: If I use an Evo cover I will be tossing the trim ring, since obviously it won't be appropriate for my bike. There are other trim rings to fit it.

Yes. I have run the round covers on several TC bikes. But you need to buy a gasket that goes on top of the SE air filter to give support to the cover. Otherwise you risk breaking the bolt out of the center of the cover. Gasket part number is 29591-99

An 8" Evo round cover will in fact work just fine.
Must have done that for our clients 30-40 times.
