Starting bike after 3 years
Looking at a 2002 softail that has not been started in 3 years. Its fuel injected not carbed.
What procedure should I follow? I know to drain and flush the tank, change the oils but what about the fi?
What about any prep for the cylinders before firing it up?
Thanks

Along with checking the battert flushing the tank and changing fluids is a good start. I would also pull the plugs (check them) and give each cylinder a shot of lube and crank it over a few times with the plugs out.Make sure no critters found their way into the ac and exhaust. A lot of other things to consider too... tires, brakes, etc...

Look into the tank and try to see if there is any rust, or peeling of the inner tank liner. If you see any problems, keep in mind that this is a labor intensive task to fix.
Remove the air cleaner and make sure no nests, debris.
No need to squirt any lube into the cylinder, doing this doesn`t lube anything, it just makes it smoke like a radial engine on startup...
The cylinder and piston get lubed from underneath, and as soon as the engine cranks over there will be oil on the cylinders where it needs to be.
