Default Question on the Rear Fender

Ok so i have an iron 883 2014

The previous owner chipped the paint on the rear fender and then out carbon fiber vinyl wrap to hide the mistake

Well i took of the vinyl because it was **** ugly
then found why he did it

Now im stuck. I dont wanna vinyl it again.

I was thinking of cutting 4inches off the fender so i could still seat a passanger if needed and not have to remove those back bracketa for the fender, does anyone have some pictures of that done or have any ideas how to go about doing this?

Also is that back bracket that the rear lights are on, is that one piece and part of the frame, if not how do you go about removing and remounting the lights?

Just have it repainted if you want it fixed. If you want it modded, mod it, then have it repainted. If you cut the fender you will need to have it repainted to look right and so the newly exposed metal doesn't start rusting on you. It is your bike, do what YOU want with it, but either way it sounds like you will be having a fender painted.
