Default Where can I get shorter screws needed for modification of my bike?

I just got my first Harley and in making some changes to the bike (removing the front indicators, switching air filters, etc.), I find that I am in need of the stock bolts at much shorter lengths. Where is the best place to find equivalent, but shorter screws? I hesitate to run to the local home depot for this... Also, I feel like the dealer would only have original screws at obscene prices.

Any input would be great.

Cheers,
Tim

When I made some changes to my bike, I just went to my local hardware store and they had what I wanted.

Fastenal has been an expensive but reliably satisfying source for screws, nuts, bolts of unusual sizes and dimensions in my recent projects.

McMaster-Carr has a great selection.
Lowes has chrome and polished stainless hardware.

Avoid the Chinese crap at Home Depot, hardware stores etc...

These folks have what you need, reasonable prices and they ship very fast:

Try Lincoln Hardware first, if no joy ask them where to get what you need. Avoid the big box stores, they usually only have butter bolts.
