Silly question and I know it won't hurt. When the splines are slightly worn on the shifter shaft is it a good idea to use blue lock tite. Correct me if I'm wrong---- to remove the shifter shaft all you I have to do is remove the back 3/16 allen bolt and I believe the shaft will just slide out forward----- correct.

 

If the splines are a little worn, you better make sure it's tight. Blue loctite isn't going to replace splines.

If you know there is a problem and it doesn't tighten up solid, replace the worn part(s)

 

Loctite works with the absence air on threads when torqued, it will not have any effect on the shifter splines as they are not tight enough in tolerance to be air tight...

 

Cut a 1/4" wide sliver of aluminum from a soda can, wrap it around the splines, and re-install the shifter arm.
