Might have missed this in the manual, but do you have to drain the oil tank on a softail (2007) before removing the cam plate and oil pump? Will the oil flow out the oil pump inlet or remain in the tank. The oil only has 1500km on it and would rather not have to drain the tank if it will not flood out when the pump removed.

Yes. Once the pump is pulled the oil will come out the supply line to the pump.
