Hopefully it doesn't take them into the *******. But as long as I can walk into Sears with a broken tool and walk out with a new one, I'm good.

I was told by an Ace Hardware employee that replacement of broken Craftsman tools is accomplished at Ace by sending the broken tool in and they decide to repair or replace.

Yup, the economy is booming. Macy's just announced plans to close 85 stores and lay off 6,250 employees.

They've already started that long walk into oblivion ... The Craftsman tools that we grew up with are a far cry from the quality available today. There are a couple of "Craftsman Line" brands available ... be careful of what you purchase.

I just read in "USA Today", Black & Decker, purchaser of the craftsman line intends to build a new $35 million facility here in the states.

"Expanding American manufacturing makes "business sense" amid "pervasive" uncertainty regarding the future of U.S. trade with China and Mexico, Stanley Black & Decker CEO James Loree told investors Thursday in a conference call.

Although he did not mention Donald Trump by name in his remarks to investors, Loree's comments had all the hallmarks of an effort to inoculate his company from the possible effects of the president-elect's threatened "border tax."

"We view it sort of as one of several political movements, or concepts, that really drive us to this concept of make-where-we-sell," Loree said. "It’s going to be advisable to have more manufacturing in the U.S."
