There is a local place I have sent a few customers to to have it done. I believe they charge $25 and they warn you ahead of time if the shield breaks, they don't pay for a new one. Both shields looked great after and there were no reported issues. So, the answer is yes, call around to a few glass cutting places and ask, the third call I made resulted in the place these guys have gone to....

Yes it's not hard to do,I cut the headlight opening larger on my Dyna windshield using a fine blade on a jigsaw and finished with a belt sander. A few years later when I bought my road king I went to a glass business and had them do it for $25. For that price it wasn't worth the risk of messing it up by doing it myself. Before I had it cut I road around with painters tape on the windshield at different levels until I was sure of the height I wanted it cut at.

I trimmed my LRS a couple times on the bottom edge so was hidden in fairing. Once I was happy I ordered a new one in that size from LRS. With their periodic sales you cant go wrong

My friend did his shield....just put blue tape over it so you don't scratch it with the jigsaw.

I have done the same - you can do it with the windshield still on the bike - It's easier to hold that way - Eastcoast Jim

I made a few wind screens from Lexan (bought HomeDepot). It is unbreakable, I used hammer and couldn't break it. The only problem, it is thin and probably can cut off your head in front collision. Car door vertical moulding can be used for top screen edge.

I cut down a windscreen few years ago. Marked with blue painter tape, marked the outline, used a coping saw, and took my time. once I had it cut, filed the edge smooth, then used 120 grit sandpaper and sanded to what I wanted. It took about 30-45 minutes, not bad, took my time, and once I was done, you would be hard pressed to tell me I cut it myself.
it is easy.....go for it!
