Red or blue (loctite)

I hadn't heard that before, but haven't and wouldn't use it on aluminum threads anyway - I've seen bolts come out of aluminum cases with the aluminum threads sheared off and stuck in the steel bolt threads when red was used, kinda ruins someone's day.

Before H-D started using a dry patch on their fasteners, The FSM would instruct you to use #262 "Red" on the Rear Belt Sprocket/Pulley Bolts... those were aluminum hubs

They're real fun to remove too.
On a side note, the tip above from IdahoHacker to use the soldering gun worked great on a rusted on floorboard support to frame bolt today.
I'm giving that a shot later this week on a pretty crusty 9 spoke I found on the cheap.
