RPM surging at idle and low speed?
Had an unusual warm day and took bike for first ride since putting up for winter. 07 Heritage with 27K mi. K&N air cleaner and Nightrider Xied were installed by me shortly after purchase in June 2016 (26 K mi. and stock when purchased) Bike ran great rest of summer. When put up for winter topped of tank with 97 octane and seafoam and put on tender. Last week did three hole oil change and replaced rear tire to get ready for Daytona.
On ride today, approx. 60 deg. F, after about an hr. of gentle cruising on rural roads I noticed, when stopping, it idled rough and on take off was hesitating. Took it on hiway to open it up a little to see if that helped. No change. took it home and listened to it at idle for a few minutes. seemed like idle was a little slow but every 3 or 4 seconds RPM would surge up for about a second. Seems to run fine when up to speed.
Hope someone can give me a clue as to what is going on ?

Idle problem resolved
Today I replaced plugs, mi. on exist. unknown but they didn't look bad, front was a little darker. Replaced batt., inspect and clean conn's and ground. Pulled K&N air cleaner, inspect and clean (wasn't dirty, only 1K mi.)
Clean intake and IAC, check operation, pull TPS conn., clean, inspect and reconnect.
Started right up, sounded great, took a short run around hood (raining too much for a ride) ran great, smooth idle and good power on take off.
Just like a woman, just needed a little hands on attention to purrrrr like a kitten. Or should I say rumbbbbble.
