I have ridden home with a bungy holding my kickstand up before. That spring has nothing to do with the function of the kickstand. It's only purpose is to keep it out of the way while riding. That's it. And people wonder why they put instructions on aspirin bottles on how to remove the lid.

I hear ya man. I've never seen folks having a problem with such a simple device.

I've been riding Harleys for 35 years and never had any kind of problem with the kickstand or the spring. The Harley kickstand is almost foolproof in my opinion.

im so sick of the typical harley customer. they cant figure things out, break **** due to improper operation, and just plain screw things up due to stupidity and the first words out of there mouth is some stupid comment on the "great quality of our machines" or the its an outstanding issue at the motor company. I say sell your harley and buy a f*&^ing goldwing. everyone in the dealer network will be much happier, including your self.
