Cool FLHTCU pings, rough idle

I have a 2007 Ultra Classic. After about an hour of riding, in 70-75 degree weather, my bike "pings" under load and I experience a noticeable power loss in hills as well. This is with just me on the bike (I weigh 200 lbs). Also, when coming to a stop after a decent ride, say 100 miles non-stop, the engine fights to idle, like it wants to stall and I have to blip the throttle a few times to get it back, but it is still a shaky idle compared to initial start up. I always run the same gas, Mobile, and always 93 octane. I am very disappointed in hot operation. Is this the norm? Say it isn't so! Help, plz!

Bummer. My 2000 Ultra doesn't act that way. I "assume" you have Fuel Injection? When did it start doing this? Sometime it's easier to eliminate things while troubleshooting. Try different gas, change the plugs, check the air cleaner (I've seen mice take up residence in an air cleaner and build a nest in them, or wasps, etc). Let us know what you try and what you find. Good Luck. George.

Any engine modifications? Using any tuner? (SERT, PCIII, etc.) Does it indicate any historical diagnostic codes?

Wayne: No that's not normal. Sounds like an intake leak, but get it checked out as soon as possible.
