Default powder coat or ceramic coating?

I just bought the Iron 883 and love the look of the bike but want to "dull" down the chrome exhaust pipes. Which would be best for this - powder coat or ceramic coating? I would like them to be more of a silver color, more matched to the silver details on the bike. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I would use Ceramic Coating if it were mine-it will keep the Pipes cooler on the outside-here is one of the best:

Thanks a bunch bud, I hadn't even thought of them. I know ther stuff is pretty nice and after looking at thier site they have a dealer not more than 15 miles from the house. Guess I'll have to make that stop and see how the colors match up. Again thanks for the info.

Just a heads up, there are some on the forum that have had their pipes done by Jet-Hot and weren't really impressed. I got a quote of about $175 + shipping to have my V&H true dual heat shields done on my King and I decided to leave them chrome. A good etching primer and a couple high dollar ($12-15) cans of high temp spray paint and you can achieve the look you're going for.

I just had a set of stock heat shields and rush mufflers ceramic coated silver from a company called nitro plate, they offer a bright coat or satin coat, we had the satin coat done and installed on an Iron, wish I would have took pictures, it looked great.

Here's another that I'm looking at: Cradin. They do pipe tattooing as well.

Thumbs up

Hey I noticed in the new August Easyrider Magazine two of the bikes that Wolfe's rebuilt are pictured at the Lonestar Rally in Galveston, Texas. Her's a link to see them.
