Securtiy Status Indicator stays lit up while riding.
Key icon on 09 dyna stays lit up while riding(the key shaped security system light next to the odometer). All with security system works normal. Owners manual says when this happens to "see Harley-Davidson dealer". Anybody else ever have this problem and if so how, other than "see Harley-Davidson dealer", did you remedy the problem. Any info would be great.
Thanks- Eric

No. Just had new handlebars and turn signal relocation kit installed. Mechanic is trying to figure this one out too. Said he pulled a fuse when working on the turn signals. Tomorrow morning I'm going to take the bike back to him and see if we can't figure this thing out. Just asking on here to see if I couldn't get a head start or something.

What year and model is the bike? Have you rode it since the work has been done? The TSM on the newer bikes needs to reset by riding for a while after some thing that you do to the turn signals.

Yes I have ridden the bike since. Aprox. 50 miles. Its an 09 street bob. Will take it for a quick spin tonight to see if it has tuned itself off. Thanks for the info Rudeman.

Steady lit key means you have current DTC. On my street glide there is a sequence with the odometer reset button. Hold button and turn ignition on, release button and it does "wow" test. Then "diag" appears. Push reset button and "PSSPT" appears. While "P" is flashing push and hold reset button and any codes for the ECM will show. Hold reset button for at least 5 sec. to clear any codes. "S" is for TSM/SSM/HFSM codes, "SP" is for speedo, "T" is tach codes. A quick push of the reset button moves you from one letter to the next. It's not as confusing as I make it sound. Good luck,Russel

2001 FXDL Security Status 'problem'
After a while of typically hot, slow, 'stop and start' riding in Dubai city traffic the Security Status indicator lights up solid, with the engine running. Once I get going at speed the status light goes out.
The Dyna Models manual simply states that if the Status indicator comes on solid for > 8 seconds after ignition key ON "a current trouble code is present" (page S27). It does not say anywhere what the code may be, nor does it seem to refer to the indication I get; coming on solid during riding.
Maintenance here in Dubai is marginal to non-existent so any help would be appreciated.
